GRAVE DANGER

First off: performances from all = A-OK!! Acting and directing were superb! Tarantino's masterpiece, we like to call this episode. My only complaint is that 90 minutes would have done this episode better justice. There were a couple scenes (i.e. the Warrick/Nick locker room scene, the Sam/Curtis/Gorshin scene) that felt like time-fillers. I wouldn't say they really slowed the episode down very much, though. The story line was great and I couldn't have picked a better character to be buried than Nick. In my opinion, George is the only one who could have pulled it off so convincingly. I think it was brave of the writers (and Tarantino) to start to delve deeper into a character other than Sara or Grissom or the redundant personal plots of Catherine...I sense a first Emmy nod for Mr. Eads.

Favorite Moment: Nicky is rescued.
Favorite Quote: "Oh, and by the way, this is just the work me. You haven't had the full David Hodges experience." "I think I'm having it right now." - Hodges and Greg (respectively)

With the Grissom/Sara action on hiatus, this episode reminded me how great it would be for Greg and Sara to get together--just for dinner...once! I'd hate to see the writers abandon GSR all together, but I like that they enjoy mixing things up. The show needs some variety edged back into it. Now a Cath/Warrick subplot would be the icing on the cake... The episode was great, overall. The Greg/Sara case kept me guessing until the end (thought I had it all figured out again!) and the B case, though predictable, made me second guess its predictability...if that made any sense!

Favorite Moment: Grissom reminds Ecklie how to do his job (as a CSI).
Favorite Quote: "I love it when you wear your gloves." - Grissom to Ecklie

Great episode for Marg to shine, but what else is new? Her performance in this mediocre episode, however great, was nothing spectacular in comparison to her weekly portrayal of Catherine. All in all, I do expect MH to get an Emmy nod this year for her seasonal work.

Favorite Moment: Marg pulls a gun on her husband. LOL!
Favorite Quote: "So you're saying our killer has metal balls?" "Yes ... maybe. Turns out that the victim worked in a car dealership, so she could've gotten metal balls on the job. And just in case you're wondering, working here, I'm developing them too." - Grissom and Hodges (respectively)

Wow! My first nail-biting CSI moment!!

According to TV Guide's initial description of this episode (on their website), I was to expect two cases...the one we got, and one involving crop circles. About 20 minutes into the episode, I realized Grissom and Sara were all I'd be getting this time. At first, I was a little upset that I wouldn't be getting my (all-new) Nick fix this week, but as soon as the "attack scene" started, I'd forgotten all about my upset.

I have to admit, while I started out a dedicated GSR fan, in the past few eps (and with the re-watching of a past few in early seasons) I have gradually meandered to shipping Greg/Sara. However, I'm afraid this episode has set me on the right(?) track again... Not only did I wish Grissom had gotten to Sara sooner, but I was hoping, once he got the door open, that he would rush in there and take Sara in his arms and comfort her. Now I'm really hoping they go somewhere with this! I love how Grissom is always coming to her rescue! I love the whole "Knight in Shining Armor" image the writers are going with for Grissom--it really works for me!

Favorite Moment: Sara gets attacked by an inmate and Grissom comes to her rescue.
Favorite Quote: "Pica" "Boo?" - Grissom and Doc Robbins (respectively)

Risky move leaving Brass to carry an entire episode...you would think, maybe as a sub-plot...but a whole ep?...and what a coInkIdInk that Warrick just happened to be in L.A. in Brass' time of need...I thought Teal Redmann did an exceptional job picking up where Nicki Lynn Aycox left off with Ellie...the Brass/Annie relationship revelation was cute...unexpected, but cute...just happy to see Nick was in it (just barely)...now I'd just like to know what happened to the gift Brass left for Ellie...they'd better pick up on this storyline again before the show's over and done with!
