Greg gets his first real taste of just how raunchy Las Vegas residents can get when he, Grissom, and Sara investigate a group of "swingers." Nick and Warrick's case lightens the mood when they are left to deal with an unruly crime scene cleanup worker, Marty. The case, although serious within itself, is contrasted by conversation between the CSIs and the "mopman." Cath's claws come out as she campaigns for Ecklie's former job as days' supervisor.

Cath/Nick shippers got a high off of this one as the pair delved into the life of "beauty after 40"...and Nick expresses his admiration and respect for Cath. Sara and Greg work very closely (along with Grissom) to find the actual cause of death of a birdlover found dead inside his home as it was being fumigated. A "punny" ep, to say the least...

This episode was more disturbing than pleasant as the CSIs investigate a family in which the parents pick favorites...their poor, favored son feels responsible for the death of his younger sister whom to describe as "generous" would be an understatement.

DOWN THE DRAIN

Great chemistry between Cath and Warrick as their relationship heats up in this less nitty-gritty episode. Sara shows her persistent side as she attempts to take down a door to a closet full of pipe bombs--risking not only her own life, but Warrick's as well.

Favorite Moment: Cath slips in the storm drain and Warrick is there to catch her...

VIVA LAS VEGAS

Great start to the new season. Jam-packed with humor, forensics, and strangeness at the same time! The fondness between Nick and Sara really comes through in this episode...and for some reason, Grissom feels the need to always stick Cath with the cases dealing with strippers...guess he doesn't buy all that "personal experience bias" crap...Greg really gets tossed around by his colleagues--including Hodges...and Greg's prospective replacement, Chandra, seems less than promising.

Favorite Moment: Nick and Warrick's bet at the end. Classic.
