HOLLYWOOD BRASS
Mood:  chillin'

Risky move leaving Brass to carry an entire episode...you would think, maybe as a sub-plot...but a whole ep?...and what a coInkIdInk that Warrick just happened to be in L.A. in Brass' time of need...I thought Teal Redmann did an exceptional job picking up where Nicki Lynn Aycox left off with Ellie...the Brass/Annie relationship revelation was cute...unexpected, but cute...just happy to see Nick was in it (just barely)...now I'd just like to know what happened to the gift Brass left for Ellie...they'd better pick up on this storyline again before the show's over and done with!

Favorite Moment:
Favorite Quote: "You know, dirty cops don't like to hang with clean ones." "So that's why they called me squeaky?" - Annie and Brass (respectively)

I liked each of the cases this time...I would have liked them even better, however, if they were more elaborated on...like I said with SOL, I like the guessing part...the only case that had me really guessing was Nick's case...I absolutely reveled at the fact that all the cases were connected somehow...clever...although, I'm still trying to figure out how Nick's case connected...

Favorite Moment: Greg flexes for the mirror.
Favorite Quote: "Sara, I just want you to know that when we were in the shower, I didn't see anything." "Really? Gosh, I saw everything." - Greg and Sara (respectively)

SPARK OF LIFE

The writers feel the need to mix things up again with another pair of intertwining cases...I must admit...the episode all together had me speculating until the very end...just when I thought I had it all figured out...they go and throw a twist in my face (sometimes, more like a tweak to my train of thought)...but that's what keeps me coming back to watch every week...

Can someone please explain to me why Stephen Baldwin felt the desire to give his character the most phony southern accent I've ever heard? He was less than convincing!...and what's up with the Nick/Cavaliere drama? I thought Detective C. to be a respectable guy...at least Nick didn't jump the gun...like a true criminalist should, he waited til all the evidence was in, then called it...and Wil Wheaton's guest spot?...so small it was hardly notable...(apologies to all Wil fans...I respect your fandom and this is just my opinion)

Favorite Moment: Sara and Griss fool the suspect with a wheelie and a tape recorder.
Favorite Quote: "You owe me an apology." "I'm sorry...that you feel that way." - Det. Cavaliere and Nick (respectively)

Let's just say...the outcome of night shift's case was obvious from the start, given the environment the guy died in...and Cath and Warrick's case...I have not a clue what they were talking about!...well after watching it a second time, I'm a little more clued in, but the writers are relying more on a highly educated audience now...if I had difficulty understanding it, I can't imagine how confused those younger than I were...

Favorite Moment: Cath joins Warrick in the casino and eats his food...and the dummy weight scene.
Favorite Quote: "You know, this is exactly like a dream I had once. Except, it wasn't in a garage and Grissom wasn't watching--that was a different dream." - Greg to Sara, when lying down to act as the soon-to-be crushed victim
